Gecko is a novel instrument concept for NI Kontakt 4, which gives you the ability to quickly compose countless variations of certain instrument categories such as "Strings", "Mallets", "Environs or "Percussion" etc.
The principle of Gecko is based on the simultaneous use of up to 6 sounds - each of them can be loaded into sound slots with an excess of 20 well prepared sound sources which come from the entire Cinematique Instruments library enriched by several new sound creations.

Sound Matrix Slot 1: Set the volume of sound slot 1

Scene: Choose one of the programmed scenes, reset all sounds, use the Randomize! function or load/ save your own scenes on harddisk
Loudness: Filter to add more hi-fi to the entire sound
Presence: Filer to enhance the entire sound
Amp: Individual speaker simulation
Lo Pass: Lo Pass Filter from 0 Hz to 20kHz
Hi Pass: Hi Pass Filter from 0 Hz to 20kHz
Reverb: Sets the amount of reverb
Sound Menu 1: From the menu choose the sound for sound slot 1
Sound Menu 2: From the menu choose the sound for sound slot 2
Sound Menu 3: From the menu choose the sound for sound slot 3
Sound Menu 4: From the menu choose the sound for sound slot 4
Sound Menu 5: From the menu choose the sound for sound slot 5
Sound Menu 6: From the menu choose the sound for sound slot 6
Detune: Sets the tuning of sound slot 1 from -12 to 12 semitones
Attack: Sets the initial time it takes to reach the maximum level after the key has been triggered (from very short to relaxed long)
Manual+Credit Tab: Click to change the screen for seeing a short manual and some credit information.
CC Monitor Tab: Click to change the screen for setting the controller for volume-automation
Release: Sets the initial time it takes to fall to zero after the key has been released.
Randomize: An absolute unique feature. By clicking all parameters including the sounds from the sound menu will be set at random!
Load and Save: „Load“ or „Save“ to write or reload your current status of Gecko to your hard disk.
Gecko is very easy to work with. Just load one of the sound sources via the sound menu into the sound slots - you can play 6 sounds sources at the same time - and set the volume and the pan separately. Besides, you can adjust the global sound of the whole instrument by using different sorts of filters, reverb and speaker simulation. That means countless options!
For people who just like to play around, there are interesting and impressive scene variations. For those seeking inspiration from uncountable variations or who are just curious about the enormous possibilities Gecko provides, there is a "Randomize!" function which sets all parameters at random. Awesome!
